Extreme poverty hits nearly two million French people

Paris, May 28 (Prensa Latina) Extreme poverty is currently affecting as many as 1.9 million people in France principally in overseas areas, the National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (INSEE) published.

In a report, INSEE specified that many French individuals live with less than 930 euros a month, dealing with various material and social deprivations.

Poverty hits 2.4% of population, a relatively stable proportion in last decade.

According to INSEE, extreme poverty is mainly sensed in Martinique, Guadeloupe, French Guiana, Réunion and Mayotte.
