Lavrov and Arreaza will also examine the situation in Venezuela, current issues of the global and regional agenda, and mutual ties within the framework of the United Nations and other international agencies and platforms.

Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova highlighted in recent days that Russia and Venezuela maintain ‘a strategic partnership based on equitable and mutually beneficial cooperation, on ties of friendship and mutual sympathy between their peoples.’

In 2020, both countries celebrated the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations and this year, they celebrate the 25th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty on Cooperation and Friendship.

Arreaza explained that Venezuela and Russia have signed dozens of agreements that have come true despite the US blockade and the circumstances the national economy is facing.
