Cuba reports 5,003 Covid-19 cases and 58 deaths

Havana, Sep 30 (Prensa Latina) Cuban health authorities on Thursday reported 5,003 new contagions with the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, which causes Covid-19, and 58 deaths due to complications from the disease. At his daily morning briefing on television, the national director of Epidemiology at the Ministry of Public Health, Dr. Francisco Duran, said that Cuba has reported 877,428 Covid-19 cases and 7,436 deaths since March 11, 2020.

On Wednesday, 46,821 samples to detect the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus were studied, and a total of 9,556,124 real-time PCR tests have been made in Cuba so far.

Dr. Duran said that 65,295 people are still in hospitals; 33,634 of them are suspected cases; 2,854 are under epidemiological surveillance and 28,807 are active patients.
