Algeria starts producing Sinovac vaccine against Covid-19

Algiers, Oct 1 (Prensa Latina) Algeria will produce other Covid-19 vaccines, Prime Minister Aimane Benabderrahmane announced at the launch of the plant that began making China's Sinovac, local media reported.

The cabinet chief described the production of the Sinovac vaccine at a laboratory in northeastern Constantine as a great achievement.

That plant, the only one authorized in Africa, is expected to produce eight million doses a month with the possibility of doubling that amount and exporting the medicine.

The Government’s plans to contain the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic is immunizing 70 percent of its 44 million inhabitants by the end of 2021.
