In an official communique, Maduro describes this event as a historic moment that marks the true independence and the restoration of the dignity of that combative nation under the leadership of Mao Zedong and the Communist Party of China, who paved the way to Socialism.

This commemoration, the text expresses, is timely to thank China’s solidarity with the Venezuelan people and the Bolivarian Government in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic, which, it stresses, has been decisive for the management and prevention of this scourge.

The document also reiterates its support to that Asian country in the defense of its sovereignty, as well as in the rejection to the external interference, and reaffirms its willingness to accompany China in the construction of the historic paradigms of cooperation such as the Belt and Road Initiative as well as the community of shared destiny for humanity.
