Clashes reported in refugee camp in Syria

Damascus, March 29 (Prensa Latina) Violent clashes took place in the al-Hol refugee camp, which houses families of imprisoned terrorists in the province of Hasakeh, in the northeast of Syria.

An explosion at the entrance of the camp was followed by clashes in the fifth section of the camp between the so-called Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and terrorists from the Islamic State (Daesh in Arabic), as reported by local activists to the media.

According to the statements, armed members of the FDS in control of the site launched calls through loudspeakers for the terrorists to surrender.

The Syrian government warned on several occasions of the chaos and lack of security in said camp resulting from poor social and medical care and the lack of basic services, in addition to the proliferation of weapons.

The al-Hol refugee camp is the largest in Syria and houses 62,000 people of 60 nationalities, 80 percent of whom are women and children of extremist Daesh fighters.
