siria-1-1
Damascus, Aug 20 (Prensa Latina) Only 11,000 schools out of the 21,000 that Syria had before the war will receive students during the next school year to begin on September 4th.

According to data revealed by the director of school buildings of the Ministry of Education, Muhammad Badawi, 8,625 educational centers are partially damaged, another 555 have been completely destroyed, 4,192 schools are inaccessible because they are in areas outside government control, and another 27 accommodate displaced families.

During 2022, some 6,000 educational centers underwent light rehabilitation and 175 were rebuilt, bringing the number of available schools to 3,000, the official explained.

He recognized that there are difficulties and obstacles that affect the educational recovery process, such as difficult access to damaged schools in some areas and weak financing, taking into account the large number of affected facilities.
