Lombardy has been the country´s most hit region, reporting 348 cases, followed by Lazio (150), and Emilia Romagna (85).

Health protocol includes immediate isolation of confirmed cases “until scabs of rash” fall off.

Patients requiring no hospitalization should be sent home, according to locally defined procedures, by applying extreme measures to prevent infection to spread.

Monkeypox vaccination started off in August and is being applied mainly in the country´s most affected areas.
