The 43rd edition of the Caracol Radio, Film and Television Awards paid tribute to Cuban radio in its century of existence and to filmmaker Octavio Cortázar, who also directed the Uneac Hurón Azul Documentary Development Center and was vice president of the organization. .
In addition to the panel and the exhibition of competing works, this Thursday the theoretical space was dedicated to topics such as streaming and podcasts and their reach on the Internet, in addition to the presentation of books from Editorial En Vivo, the Cuban Radio Institute and TV.
In statements to Prensa Latina, the president of the Uneac Film, Radio and Television Association, Lourdes de los Santos, indicated that this edition, in session until October 28, 30 film communicative products were presented, 80 of television, 43 for radio and eight for criticism and research.
The award jury is made up of filmmakers Arturo Soto and Rudy Mora, in the film and television categories, respectively; the National Award for Cultural Journalism José Antonio Fernández de Castro (2019) Sahily Tabares in criticism; and the director of radio programs Lázaro Sarmiento in said specialty.
Uneac, the organization that will award the prizes tomorrow, brings together Cuban intellectuals and grants maximum priority to the promotion of works that enrich the material and spiritual heritage of the nation through an extensive system of Prizes and Scholarships.
