Russia considers sanctions belie WTO commercial principles

Moscow, Dec 17 (Prensa Latina) Russian Foreign Ministry on Saturday considered that sanctions imposed by the European Union (EU) belie the World Trade Organization (WTO) international financial and trade relation principles.

Moscow also believes that the nonstop sanctions will only lead to an increased number of states willing to listen to Russia’s stance, as praised by the Foreign Ministry on Saturday.

The EU sanctions continue its course, and unilateral restrictive measures against third countries and their citizens have long since become a favorite instrument of Brussels’ foreign policy.

Moreover, the EU has already created a mechanism to punish both citizens of its own and other countries through ‘circumvention of anti-Russian restrictions’, a draft law making it a crime to violate illegitimate sanctions, the statement noted.
