Bahaman PM lays wreath at Jose Marti statue in Cuba

Havana, Dec 20 (Prensa Latina) The Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas, Philip Davis, on Tuesday laid a wreath in this capital at the equestrian statue of Cuban National Hero Jose Marti.

Accompanied by Deputy Foreign Minister Anayansi Rodriguez, the head of Government, who is on an official visit to Cuba, paid tribute to the apostle at his monument at Plaza 13 de Marzo, in Havana’s historic heart.

Davis, who arrived in Cuba on Sunday, will meet with local authorities and will participate in other events of bilateral interest.

In August, Cuban Prime Minister Manuel Marrero and the deputy prime minister and head of Tourism, Aviation and Investment of the Bahamas, Chester Cooper, advocated increasing cooperation between the two countries and the identification of new areas of collaboration.

Similarly, Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez ratified, on November 30, the desire to increase the existing friendship and mutual assistance, on the occasion of the 48th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Cuba and the Bahamas.
