The meeting has brought together more than 300 delegates and guests and will culminate in a process of debates and meetings held in recent months in all higher education centers nationwide.
According to FEU President Karla Santana, the preparatory activities focused on “strengthening the comprehensive preparation, leadership, exemplary role, the transit of student leaders and the stability of the FEU structures.”
Santana pointed out that the FEU continues its improvement process aimed at articulating the student mass in function of the people, as well as making an effective contribution to the construction of Cuban socialism.
After three intense days of work, the University Student Federation will close its 10th Congress on Tuesday, with its sights set on channeling the university students’ force and transcending the walls to join the transformation of society.
Also present at the FEU Congress, held at Havana’s Convention Center, were Prime Minister Manuel Marrero, Commander of the Rebel Army Jose Ramon Machado, and Secretary of Organization of the Communist Party of Cuba Roberto Morales, among other government authorities.
