Havana, Jan 9 (Prensa Latina) Cuban Prime Minister Manuel Marrero on Monday recalled the 31st anniversary of the assassination of four young combatants who were defending the Cuban coasts, an event known as the Tarará Crime.

On Twitter, the Cuban prime minister quoted the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution Fidel Castro´s words: “Assassinating unarmed and tied men is simply monstrous”.

Back in 1992, a crook group attacked the Tarará nautical base, in the east of Havana, with the aim of stealing a boat and fleeing to the United States. During the incident, combatants Orosmán Dueñas, Yuri Gómez and Rafael Guevara were assassinated, while Rolando Pérez Quintosa was seriously injured.

The seven assailants´ purpose was to reach the United States in order to pick up on the Cuban Adjustment Act, but the illegal fleeing was frustrated, and thanks to Quintosa´s statements and coordinated actions by the Cuban enforcement law officers, attackers were arrested and tried.
