The Egyptian Foreign Ministry issued a statement calling on the international community and the UN to assume their responsibilities to protect the Palestinian people.
“We demand the immediate cease of these operations because they threaten to start a fire in the West Bank and undermine efforts to revive the peace process,” he warned.
“The persistence of such attacks on Palestinian lives and properties increases the state of tension and feelings of injustice,” he added.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs urged respect for the norms of international laws and the resolutions of the UN Security Council on the Palestinian issue.
A week ago, the Egyptian Foreign Minister, Sameh Shoukry, called on his Israeli counterpart, Eli Cohen, to avoid an escalation in the area during a telephone conversation.
Earlier this year, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi held talks with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, asking him to return to the negotiating table with the Palestinians.
