New drone strikes in eastern Syria reported

Damascus, Jan 31 (Prensa Latina) Local activists confirmed attacks using unidentified drones against a tanker truck and another civilian vehicle in the eastern Syrian province of Deir Ezzor, near the border with Iraq.

According to the sources, a tanker truck loaded with crude oil was attacked by a drone, causing a huge explosion, in the town of Al-Sueyieh, in the municipality of Albukamal, near the Syrian-Iraqi border.

Another UAV attacked a car in Al-Ostora square in the town of Al-Hari, in the same municipality of Albukamal, although there are no reports of human or material losses at the moment.

The attack took place two days after a similar one against a convoy of 25 Iranian trucks just minutes after entering Syrian territory from neighboring Iraq.

According to Iranian sources quoted by the al-Watan diary, the attacked trucks were carrying rice, sugar and bread flour.

Israel was accused of being behind the attacks, and an answer to them was promised.

The United States and Israel frequently attack this area, near the border, where Syrian army troops and their Iranian and Iraqi formation allies, concentrate to fight against the remnants of Daesh, infiltrated in the area.
