Nicolás Maduro recalled the revolutionary and friend Néstor Kirchner

Caracas, Feb 25 (Prensa Latina) The President of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, remembered today "the great revolutionary and friend" Néstor Kirchner (1950-2010), on the 73rd anniversary of his birth.

In his Twitter account, the dignitary pointed out that the former president faced abuse and injustice, his life was a struggle for a prosperous Argentina and for the dream of the Great Homeland, his leadership marked the history of the region and the conscience of the Peoples of Our America.

In an audiovisual accompanying the message, Commander Hugo Chávez (1954-2013) appears when he described the former Argentine president as a “great South American leader” and recalled when he told George Bush in Mar del Plata in 1995, “don’t come here ganging up on us (inciting violence), what courage of that man”, he stressed.

Simón Rodríguez spoke, said Chávez, that the perfect friendships are those who share not only feelings, but also ideas; “It was an almost total understanding, that’s how were Néstor and Hugo, Hugo and Néstor,” he said.

I simply pay tribute to that great friend that I will carry all my life in my heart, in this chest and in this mind. Long live Néstor Kirchner!, he said.

Maduro, for his part, recognized the statesman as the Nestor of America, of union, dignity, freedom, the union between Commander Chávez and between Venezuela and Argentina.

The president mentioned the great times of union, brotherhood, work and rowing together, on the great ship of South America.

He highlighted that Chávez and Kirchner began a new era, one with the flags of San Martín and (Juan Domingo) Perón and Evita, and the other with the flags of (Simón) Bolívar, (Antonio José de) Sucre and the historical banners of our people.

If Bolívar could not get to Buenos Aires and San Martín to Caracas, Kirchner and Chávez did make it to walk together, he declared.
