Russia demands stop Ukrainian attacks on Zaporizhzhia power plant

Moscow, Mar 27 (Prensa Latina) Russia's Permanent Representative to International Organizations in Vienna, Mikhail Ulyanov, reportedly urged the Kiev Government on Monday to commit itself to stop attacks on the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant.

The diplomat also noted that Ukrainian nationalists are incapable of confirming such a simple thing as to commit to stop attacks on the plant and prefer to talk about demilitarizing the plant.

“They simply have to promise not to fire on the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant,” Ulyanov stressed.

The Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, the largest plant in Europe, is located near Enerhodar. It comprises six pressurized water reactors of the VVER-1000 model with a total capacity of 6,000 megawatts.

The plant has been under the control of the Russian army since March 2022.
