Grammy-winning musicians record video clip in Santiago de Cuba

Santiago de Cuba, Apr 3 (Prensa Latina) "Mañana me voy pá Sibanicu' (Tomorrow I'm Going to Sibanicu), an emblematic piece of traditional Cuban music, is the title of the video clip being recorded here by Septeto Santiaguero, winners of two Latin Granmy awards.

Daylenis Blanco, from the group’s promotion team, told Prensa Latina that the single is part of “Y sigo pa’lante” (And I Keep Going), the group’s eleventh record, in collaboration with Dominican singer Jose Alberto “El Canario” and Cuban flutist Ruben Leliebre.

The expert pointed out that the audiovisual is produced by Empresa de Grabaciones y Ediciones Musicales. ALLEGRO Productions, and Templo Producciones, under the general direction of actor Alexander Legro.

The work brings together young dancers from Santiago and dance masters Berta Armignan and Juan Teodoro Florentino to recreate a natural connection between the classical and the modern, the traditional and the contemporary, based on that song, composed by singer songwriter Faustino Oramas, “El Guayabero”, she noted.

Blanco pointed out that Septeto Santiaguero is currently promoting that album, which features Mayito Rivera, Alain Perez, Waldo Mendoza, Maikel Dinza, David Alvarez, Pancho Amat, Aramis Galindo, Changüi Guantanamo, Conga de Los Hoyos and famous Cuban baseball player Orestes Kindelan.

It is a compilation of hits which the group has performed in more than 30 countries throughout its nearly 30-year career and with which it will tour Europe this summer, Blanco added.

Fernando Dewar, director of Septeto Santiaguero, noted that it is a tribute to the way of playing by the Old Santiago Trova (Vieja Trova Santiaguera), of those who have very special memories and who supported them a lot in the beginning.

This video shows the idiosyncrasies of people from Santiago, their joy, the way of projecting themselves, their way of always finding a fun side to things, he added when expressing the intention that it reflect the life of Septeto Santiaguero and how it is engage with its general public.
