As in previous times, the bird flu was reported in backyard poultry and not in a commercial establishment, the Livestock, Agriculture and Fisheries (MGAP) Minister Nicolás Chisea informed.

According to media reports, half a hundred birds, including chickens and turkeys, were found dead due to the disease.

The last bird flu outbreak was reported past Monday in San José, where local authorities decided to cull more than 100 infected hens.
