Cuba reports 34 new Covid-19 cases and no deaths

Havana, May 17 (Prensa Latina) The Cuban Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP) on Wednesday reported 34 new Covid-19 cases and no deaths as a consequence of the disease in the last 24 hours.

Until May 16, 25 patients were discharged, and the number of recovered people rose to 1,105,029.

Since the outbreak of the pandemic in March 2020, 1,113,717 citizens have been infected with the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus.

The report states that no one died due to the disease, so the death toll remains at 8,530.

MINSAP added that two critical cases are being treated in intensive care units, and 97 are confirmed active patients.

According to MINSAP, 90.7 percent of the Cuban population has been fully vaccinated, while 8,727,458 people have been administered booster doses of Cuba’s homegrown vaccines.
