Cuba condemns discrediting campaign against MININT officers

pnr
Havana, Jun 15 (Prensa Latina) The Granma newspaper, official organ of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC), on Thursday condemned that attempts to sow distrust in the Interior Ministry (MININT)´s forces are being diluted by its members´ altruistic actions.

An editorial entitled “The revolutionary guard will never be neglected”, recalls the words of the Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel when he said that “our powerful neighbor (the United States) continues to be generous with those interested in destroying the Cuban Revolution by allocating tens of millions of dollars per year to those who offer to subvert Cuba´s internal order”.

The text reiterated that Cuba has been feeling all blows of that undeclared war against its economy and society, against daily life and the country’s dreams of progress.

“Washington relies on its cruel blockade, on its hate campaigns, on its arsenal of lies, on its use of digital social networks as a mass extermination weapon against the revolutionary values, ideals and principles,” the newspaper read.

It also condemned how the United States denied Cuba, during the Covid-19 pandemic, access to purchase oxygen, which along with the complex economic situation -mainly due to the blockade- promoted violent street unrests in back 2021 summer. “Together with the same terrorist mafia it (USA) has paid for more than six decades, it now proposes to fabricate an unreal and sought-after world by using fake news, misrepresentation, manipulation and nonstop aggression through supposed facts uploaded on Internet.”

Dozens of lies overflow the anti-Cuban sites paid with millions of dollars from the U.S. State Department.

“Mounted on hackneyed scripts to attack the respect for human rights in Cuba, the US government try to demonize MININT members.”

Meanwhile, some so-called “influencers” living in the United States call for attacks on the law enforcement officers, patrol cars and units.

The text underlines that MININT members have been protagonists of over 11,500 arrests and confrontation against crime so far in 2023, in which more than 12,000 individuals have been indicted.
