Portuguese Communist leader rejects U.S. blockade against Cuba

Paulo-Raimundo_PCP-1-98c1fd96-768x470
Havana, Jun 15 (Prensa Latina) The Secretary-General of the Portuguese Communist Party (PCP) Paulo Raimundo on Thursday warned the U.S. blockade against Cuba is inhumane and unjustified.

In exclusive statements to the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC), Raimundo acknowledged that Cuba´s problems are consequences of this criminal policy.

Raimundo, who is currently conducting an in-depth work agenda with Cuban political and mass organizations, praised enormous and determined willingness of these organizations alongside the Government, State and the PCC to find solutions and continue building socialism through revolutionary creativity as called for by the Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel.

The Portuguese politician urged all nations to intensify the call for the end to the unjust economic, commercial and financial blockade, and to strengthen relations with Cuba.

All solidarity given by world peoples to Cuba will always be not much compared to the solidarity Cuba has always given to the entire world, the PCP leader added.

He thanked PCC´s invitation that allowed him to know closely the Cuban people´s reality worsened by the coercive US measures.

The European party leader also claimed that one of the pillars of the socialist construction is the willingness to find solutions to overcome problems, with the people and deeply connected to them.
