Argentine president congratulates Pedro Sanchez on his reelection

Buenos Aires, Nov 16 (Prensa Latina) Argentine President Alberto Fernandez on Thursday congratulated his Spanish counterpart, Pedro Sanchez on his reelection as head of Government, after a vote in the Congress of Deputies, where he won 179 seats, three more than the required number.

Your values and commitment were decisive for you to continue to lead Spain along the path of development, Fernandez wrote on his X profile, where he also highlighted the ties between the two nations.

I am glad to know that Argentina will continue to count on your solidarity and that of all the Spanish people, as has always happened.

We will continue to strengthen our democracies to grow in a fairer and more egalitarian world, Fernandez added.

In the July 23 elections, the conservative Popular Party (PP) won 136 seats and the Socialist Workers Party (PSOE) won 122, but none of the two political organizations could reached power without alliances.

Sanchez’s reelection, after nearly five years in the Moncloa Palace, came after a pact that led to the proposed amnesty law for the pro-independence supporters of the so-called process of Catalonia in 2017.
