Hungary’s PM reiterates opposition to Ukraine’s seat in EU

Budapest, Dec 14 (Prensa Latina) Prime Minister Viktor Orban, on Thursday, reiterated his opposition to starting Ukraine's accession talks to the European Union (EU), Radio Kossuth station reported in this capital.

Addressing journalists before the opening of the EU Summit in Brussels, Orban said that the European Union needs to start discussing this issue only after all of the requirements are met.

There were seven preconditions on the agenda and Ukraine failed to implement three of them,” the prime minister added.

Funds for short-term aid to Ukraine are in the EU budget when they should be out, Orban noted, referring to amendments to provide Kiev with 50 billion euros in aid for 2024-2027.
