China enhances national security against undercover work

Mao-Ning-1-768x512
Beijing, Jan 9 (Prensa Latina) China assured that it will take security measures in the face of recent statements by US intelligence officials about the construction of a network in China.

This was stated by Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning, who again rejected the information released by Washington about alleged Chinese spies. “The United States does not hide its declaration of carrying out large-scale intelligence activities against China. This practice itself clearly indicates a problem. China will take all necessary measures to resolutely defend ITS national security,” she emphasized.

Recently, the US Department of Justice sentenced a US Navy petty officer to over two years in prison for allegedly providing sensitive military information to Chinese intelligence services.

Moreover, China discovered and disclosed details of at least two cases of espionage in key positions in the military industry and government last year involving the United States Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).

This same week, China reported a spying case associated with the United Kingdom’s Secret Intelligence Service, known as MI6, which accessed classified Chinese information.

Other security concerns of the Chinese government are linked to cyberattacks against state entities almost on a daily basis, the majority originating in the US, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

“The United States is the world’s largest hacking empire and the global cyber thief,” spokesman Wang Wenbin said.
