Teachers’ protests continue in Argentina

Buenos Aires, May 28 (Prensa Latina) Teachers in the Argentine province of Misiones continue on Tuesday blocking roads, demonstrating in demand to a salary increase, and exceed three weeks of uninterrupted strike.

The local media reported that on national route 14, in front of School 860, in San Vicente, professors are presently blocking road traffic and freeing the way every two hours to clear the road before closing it again.

On highway 12, at the Ñacanguazu bridge, the blocked streets are being conducted indefinitely, and at the Colonia Victoria toll booth it will last three hours.

The spokesman of the Frente de Trabajadores de la Educación en Lucha, Carlos Lezcano, denounced that the professors have been receiving a too low salaries which do not allow them to face the high domestic inflation and the existing complex socioeconomic situation in Argentina.
