Mexico’s President-elect thanks congratulatory messages

Mexico City, Jun 3 (Prensa Latina) Mexico's President-elect Claudia Sheinbaum today thanked world personalities who congratulated her on her election victory on Sunday, including US President Joe Biden.

“I am convinced we will continue to work side by side for the benefit of our peoples and our nations, as the neighbors, partners and friends that we are, with the respect that our sovereignty deserves,’ she said.

The presidential candidate of the coalition made up of the National Regeneration Movement (Morena), the Labor Party and the Ecologist Green Party of Mexico, appreciated Biden’s congratulatory message and his recognition of the Mexican people for the success of the electoral process.

She further posted on X, her gratitude to Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau for his phone call to congratulate us on our victory on behalf of his country.

Mexico’s first president-elect detailed they agreed on the many common interests between the two countries and the great opportunities to strengthen our relation.

Sheinbaum thanked Honduras’ President Xiomara Castro, whom was the first woman head of State in her country as well; thus, Castro extended her sincere congratulations to the first woman President-elect of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum, for having achieved a resounding electoral victory hand in hand with the people of Mexico and her friend Lopez Obrador.

“We agreed by telephone to work alongside for the unity of Latin America and the Caribbean,” Castro noted that it’s time for women.

“Thank you very much for your congratulatory phone call on our electoral victory. We will continue to build side by side a fairer and prosperous future for our people,” Sheinbaum underscored.
