Volleyball: Cuba beat Bulgaria and still thinking about Paris 2024

Lubljana, Jun 21 (Prensa Latina) Cuba defeated Bulgaria in three sets today and maintains its hopes of qualifying for the men's volleyball tournament of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

In the third week of competitions in the Nations League, the members of the Antilleans won sets 25-18, 25-20 and 25-18.

Maikel Sanchez and captain Miguel Angel Lopez were the best players of the match with 13 and 10 goals, respectively, while Venislav Antov led the Europeans with 12.

With the victory, the Caribbeans added six points in the world ranking to 251.68 and moved closer to Serbia (256.50), who will later face Turkiye in the battle for the last place in the City of Light.

Also on Friday at the Manila venue Brazil lost in three sets to Canada and Japan also swept the Netherlands, while in Ljubljana Poland did the same 3-0 to Argentina.
