Cuban Foreign Ministry highlights the role of women in diplomacy

Havana, June 24 (Prensa Latina) The Cuban Foreign Ministry today highlighted the leading role in the Cuban revolutionary process of women linked to the country's diplomatic sector, on the occasion of the International Women's Day in Multilateralism.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs congratulated the women, who with their leadership and courage strengthen revolutionary diplomacy, and highlighted that they are an example of commitment and dedication.

In 2022, the United Nations (UN) General Assembly declared by consensus June 24 as the International Day of Women in Diplomacy, with the aim of recognizing their contribution to the foreign policy of the countries they represent. as well as the challenges they face in the exercise of their positions.

The UN stressed on its website that women bring immense benefits to diplomacy and their leadership styles, experience and priorities allow us to expand the scope of the issues examined and the quality of the results, with a more inclusive perspective and reach for all. the citizenship.

Studies show that when women hold positions in cabinets and parliaments they pass laws and policies that are better for ordinary people, the environment, social cohesion and more.
