Russia thwarts Ukrainian attack on Black Sea platform

Moscow, Sep 11 (Prensa Latina) The Russian Armed Forces foiled an attempt by Ukrainian troops to seize the Russian self-elevating drilling platform “Crimea-2” located in the Black Sea, the Ministry of Defense reported today.

“This Wednesday, an attempt by the Ukrainian military to seize the aforementioned rig was foiled by landing special troop personnel using 14 US Willard Sea Force ships,” the military body reported on its official Telegram page.

Russian Forces eliminated up to 80 Ukrainian servicemen and destroyed eight ships, while six other ships withdrew from the engagement leaving behind wounded Ukrainian military personnel.

Russia’s Defense Ministry, called the failed attack a ‘media operation’ by Kiev timed to coincide with the arrival of senior U.S. and European officials in Ukraine.

This Wednesday, Secretary of State Antony Blinken and British Foreign Secretary David Lammy arrived in Ukraine where they will meet with President Vladimir Zelenski and senior Ukrainian government officials.
