Israel escalates its violations of Syrian territory (+Photo)

Damascus, Jan 21 (Prensa Latina) The province of Quneitra in southwestern Syria is witnessing a notable escalation of acts of aggression and violation by the Israeli army, local residents reported today, as quoted by the media.

The sources, quoted by the Saut Al-Asimeh (Voice of the Capital, in Spanish) portal, reported that 10 large trucks loaded with gravel entered and reached the hill of Tal Ahmar Al-Gharbi, located near the border village of Kodna, where prefabricated houses were also transported, where Israeli heavy machinery also continues its excavations.

In a similar incident, a convoy of armored personnel carriers of the Israeli occupation forces entered the city of Al-Salam, considered the provincial capital.

Another incursion was recorded in the city of Khan Arnabeh, which is considered the furthest point reached by the occupation army since the beginning of its ground incursions after the fall of the government of Bashar Al-Assad on December 8.

The Zionist military were in the aforementioned city for about an hour before they returned to their starting point at the governorate headquarters and the court in the city of Al-Salam.

Likewise, an additional Israeli force entered the eastern side of Al-Salam under the pretext of the fall of a drone while carrying out photographic missions in the area. Meanwhile, images circulated on social media showing demolition and fortification works carried out by the Israeli army inside the buffer zone.

The day before, the Syrian delegate to the United Nations, Qusay Al-Dahhak, called on the United Nations Security Council to take urgent measures to force Israel to immediately withdraw from the occupied Syrian territories.

Al-Dahhak stressed that the Israeli military incursions constitute a violation of Syria’s sovereignty and a breach of relevant international resolutions, adding that this is unacceptable and unjustifiable.

In the middle of this month, the Israeli occupier announced the confiscation of more than 3,300 military pieces from Syria, including Syrian army tanks, anti-tank missiles and mortar shells.

Since the fall of Bashar al-Assad’s government on December 8, Israel has destroyed almost 80 percent of the Syrian army’s military capabilities, as well as expanded its occupation of the territory, including the buffer zone and the strategic Mount Hermon.
