Israeli aggression against Gaza caused multimillion-dollar losses

Ramala, Jan 22 (Prensa Latina) The Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip caused direct damages worth 38 billion dollars as a result of the destruction of the territory's infrastructure, Palestinian official sources denounced.

The Gaza Government Media Office specified that since the beginning of the war, in October 2023, the Army destroyed 161 thousand homes and damaged another 194 thousand, while 82 thousand were left uninhabitable.

In the last 15 months, Israel launched some 100 thousand tons of explosives against the Gaza Strip, specified the institution’s latest report on the situation on the ground.

At least 206 heritage sites were destroyed, as well as 3,680 kilometers of electrical networks, 330 thousand meters of water pipes, more than 2.8 million meters of road infrastructure and 42 sports facilities.

During that period, the Israeli military carried out some 10,100 massacres, killed more than 47,000 Palestinians and wounded another 109,000, while 14,222 are missing, the report said, according to which 70 percent of the victims are women and minors.

More than two thousand families were wiped out, completely exterminated, and another 4,889 have only one living member. At least 17,861 children and adolescents lost their lives, including 808 children under one year of age and 204 newborns. The war left 38,495 orphans after the death of their parents, the report said.

The Office detailed that Israel killed 12,316 women, 1,115 medical personnel, 94 Civil Defense workers, 205 journalists and 736 police officers in Gaza. Currently, some 12,700 wounded people require treatment abroad, while 12,500 cancer patients are threatened with death due to lack of treatment, it warned.

The report said that more than 2.1 million cases of infectious diseases were reported in those 15 months, including 71,338 cases of viral hepatitis. At least 137 schools and universities were destroyed and 357 partially damaged during the Israeli war campaign, which affected more than 785,000 students, it added.
