“We reaffirm our unwavering commitment to the principles of justice, sovereignty and dignity,” the lawmaker declared in a press release.
Rodríguez stated that this US action “is nothing more than a political maneuver to destabilize the Cuban Revolution and must receive the most forceful repudiation from all the peoples of the world who fight for their self-determination.”
He added that imperialism does not cease in its effort to break the will of free peoples.
The legislator pointed out that since the triumph of the Revolution in 1959, Cuba has faced numerous aggressions, blockades and strategies of discredit, but it has always managed to remain firm, defending its sovereignty and its right to exist as a free and socialist nation.
Rodríguez recalled that the Cuban people’s struggle has deep roots in social justice and equality and stated that “the true terrorists are those who, from their position of power, impose sanctions, destabilize governments and promote human suffering.”
The Parlatino-Venezuela president noted that from the Bolivarian conviction, “we extend our fraternal hand to our Cuban brothers, remembering that terrorism is not fought by sanctioning nations.”
This scourge, he reaffirmed, is fought with love, unity and the unwavering defense of the peoples’ right to choose their own destiny.
