South Africa’s African National Congress Executive Committee member Noxolo Kiviet emphasized the shared struggles and successes between the two nations while addressing the Second Congress of the ruling Ethiopian Prosperity Party which is in session from January 31 to February 2 in this capital.
“We celebrate the remarkable progress made by the Ethiopian government in nation-building, economic transformation, and the pursuit of peace. Its successes are Africa’s and its challenges are Africa’s also,” Kiviet said.
She stressed that the upcoming G20 presidency in Pretoria will focus on advancing the African agenda and the goals of the Global South, with a focus on solidarity, equality, and sustainability.
For his part, the Secretary General of the Rwanda Patriotic Front, Wellars Gasamagera, praised Ethiopia’s leadership and achievements under the Prosperity Party.
