Al-Watan daily newspaper quoted residents of Al-Joura neighborhood where the incident occurred saying that the warehouse belongs to Ahrar Al-Sharqiya group, and left a toll of three injured, who are members of the armed group that was in the headquarters, while a firefighter suffered asphyxiation.
The Civil Defense and Syrian Red Crescent teams confirmed that they managed to control the fires that broke out at the site and noted that efforts are continuing to assess the damage caused by the incident.
The real reasons behind the explosion are still unknown, but this incident is the second of its kind in less than 48 hours, as the city witnessed a similar explosion at another ammunition depot.
