When visiting the headquarters of the Korean People’s Army (KPA) for the 77th anniversary of its creation, Kim referred to the change in the political-military structure and world geopolitics, ACNC said.

The general secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea stressed the need to focus the efforts of the DPRK armed forces to prepare for war in order to actively face any changing security situation.

In addition, he stressed the permanent deployment of the United States’ strategic nuclear assets in the Korean Peninsula region, with bilateral and multilateral nuclear war drills under his command.

Washington is creating a tripartite military alliance system with Japan and the Republic of Korea, structured as a regional military bloc, and the formation of the Asian version of NATO, Kim said.

All of this forms the basis for a military imbalance, forming a conflict structure on the Korean Peninsula and the Northeast Asian region, which poses a serious challenge to the security environment of our State, the statesman said.

The DPRK does not wish to unnecessarily aggravate the regional situation, but will take countermeasures to ensure military balance, as it seeks to prevent the outbreak of a new war and ensure peace and security in the region, the political leader stressed.

Kim asserted that the DPRK government maintains an unwavering position of rejecting any act that denies international justice and affects world peace and security.
