According to the diplomat’s comments to the press on Thursday, Lavrov will speak at the plenary sessions on February 20 and 21 in the South African city, where he will offer a detailed analysis of the international situation.
Several meetings are also planned between Lavrov and his counterparts on the sidelines of the event.
South Africa assumed the presidency of the G20 on December 1 last year, taking over from Brazil. The South African presidency is being held under the motto “Solidarity, equality and sustainable development.”
At the end of November, Pretoria will hand over the presidency to the United States.
