The forum brought together students, experts, government representatives, diplomats, and media outlets, who highlighted the importance of deepening ties between Russia and African nations in various areas.
The opening ceremony began with a video message from Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, who stated that Moscow supports Africans’ desire to play an active role in world affairs.
“We will continue to contribute to strengthening the continent’s position as an independent center of power in the emerging multipolar world order,” Lavrov stated.
Also speaking at the opening were MGIMO Rector Anatoly Torkunov and Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov.
