Since 1990, the International Day against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia has been celebrated on May 17 to raise awareness and fight such attitudes.

The last few years have seen significant progress in the rights and equality of this group at the international level, especially with the launch this year by the United Nations of the largest declaration against discrimination on this matter.

Eighty-five countries have signed up to this document.
