A statement from the Foreign Affairs Ministry noted that he was one of the most important leaders of the brave Vietnamese nation, who, always adhering to socialist principles, contributed to the development and well-being of his country.
The Bolivarian Republic honored “the great contribution of former President Tran Duc Luong to strengthening the ties of cooperation between Vietnam and Venezuela.” In this regard, it was highlighted his friendship and joint work with Comandante Hugo Chavez (1954-2013), boosting a strategic relationship that “is today a model of cooperation between developing nations, whichhas contributed to the well-being of both peoples.”
On this sad news, the Venezuelan government once again reaffirmed “its thoughtful brotherhood with the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, with the commitment to continue strengthening the friendly relations between the Vietnamese and Venezuelan peoples,” the statement concluded.
