“The other party did something that practically rendered the negotiations and talks meaningless,” said Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei, quoted by the official Irna news agency.
Israel would not have launched such a war in the region without the coordination or authorization of the northern power, he said.
Baghaei criticized the White House for supporting dialogue while “allowing a racist regime to violate the territorial integrity of a country.”
However, he qualified this by pointing out that it is still unclear what decision Tehran will take tomorrow, when contacts are due to resume.
It is unimaginable for Iran, and indeed for anyone in the world, that Israel would carry out an attack on such a scale without the cooperation, coordination, or at least the authorization of the United States, he insisted.
He therefore stated that his government will hold Washington responsible for the consequences of the conflict.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry yesterday accused the United States of complicity, pointing out that the actions ordered by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu would not have occurred without the support of the Donald Trump administration. The White House, as the main supporter of that regime, will also be responsible for the consequences of the current militaristic adventure, he warned.
