The Cuban culture will be the protagonist in the picturesque town, with concerts, talks, and the screening of emblematic films from different periods, an initiative of the Cuba Cooperation France Association (CubaCoop).

Among the proposals are the films “Guantanamera” (1995) by Juan Carlos Tabio and Tomas Gutierrez Alea; “La Super” (Superheroine, 2022), an animated feature film by Ernesto Piña, and “De cierta manera” (In A Certain Way, 1974), directed by Sara Gómez, who passed away during the filming, so her work was continued by filmmakers Tomas Gutierrez Alea and Julio Garcia Espinosa.

As for “Havana Moon,” which will open the festival, the film, directed by Paul Dugdale, tells the concert of legendary British rock band the Rolling Stones in Havana in 2016.

The meeting of the seventh art dedicated to Cuba has been, in the last two years, a popular festival in Vitry-sur-Seine, whose authorities hope that the experience, motivated by solidarity and understanding between peoples, will be repeated.

A debate on Cuban culture about the impact of the US blockade will be held within the context of the festival.

Región Parisina acoge tercera edición de Festival de Cine Cubano

París, 14 jun (Prensa Latina) La comuna de Vitry-sur-Seine, en la Región Parisina, acogerá a partir de hoy la tercera edición del Festival de Cine Cubano con la presentación al aire libre de Havana Moon.

Hasta el 21 de junio la cultura cubana será protagonista en la pintoresca localidad, con conciertos y conversatorios, además de la proyección de películas emblemáticas de diversas épocas, en una iniciativa de la asociación Cuba Coopération France (CubaCoop).

Resaltan entre las propuestas Guantanamera (1995), de Juan Carlos Tabío y Tomás Gutiérrez Alea; La Súper (2022), animado de Ernesto Piña, y De cierta manera (1974), dirigido por Sara Gómez, quien falleció en el rodaje, por lo que su obra la continuaron los realizadores Tomás Gutiérrez Alea y Julio García Espinosa.

En cuanto a Havana Moon, que abrirá el festival, se trata de un material de Paul Dugdale sobre el concierto en 2016 de la legendaria banda británica Rolling Stones en La Habana.

El encuentro del séptimo arte dedicado a la isla ha sido en los últimos dos años una fiesta popular en Vitry-sur-Seine, cuyas autoridades esperan que se repita la experiencia, motivada por la solidaridad y el entendimiento entre los pueblos.

En el contexto del festival se realizará un debate sobre la cultura cubana bajo el impacto del bloqueo estadounidense.
