Cuba and Sri Lanka discuss cooperation potentials

Colombo, Jun 17 (Prensa Latina) The potential for cooperation between Cuba and Sri Lanka was the central theme of a meeting today between Ambassador Andres Gonzalez and executives of the National Chamber of Exporters of the South Asian island.

The meeting, which addressed issues in the field of trade, was attended on behalf of the only chamber of commerce in Sri Lanka that caters exclusively to the export sector, its president, Indhra Kaushal Rajapaksa, Shiham Marikar, its secretary general and CEO, among other members.

The Cuban ambassador took the opportunity to invite a Sri Lankan representation to participate in the XXXXI Havana International Fair (FIHAV 2025), to be held from November 24 to 29.

He explained the possibilities offered by this event to Sri Lankan exporters to strengthen trade relations with Cuba and other participating countries.

The Sri Lankan executives presented the Cuban diplomat with the publications of the Chamber of Exporters of Sri Lanka.

The day before, Gonzalez spoke with the Minister of Commerce, Food Security and Cooperative Development of Sri Lanka, Wasantha Samarasinghe, on possibilities of expanding cooperation in areas of trade and investment for the development of both countries.
