Marco Papacci, national president of Anaic, told Prensa Latina that the loading of the container with these donations was completed the day before with his participation, that of Loredana Macchietti, Mina’s widow and president of the foundation, as well as officials from the Cuban diplomatic mission in Italy.
This shipment includes Fowler beds, intensive care monitors, defibrillators, laminar flow hoods, mattresses, dispensers, and ventilators.
The medical equipment being sent to Cuba also includes gowns, masks, and surgical glasses, as well as other supplies, valued at approximately €350,000.
This solidarity shipment, destined for the Cuban Ministry of Public Health, is part of a collaborative project initiated a year ago between Macchietti and Papacci, during the presentation of Gianni Mina’s book, “Fidel Castro: A Thirty-Year Dialogue,” published on March 27, 2025, two years after the journalist’s death.
During this period, Anaic supported the foundation with various activities, such as book presentations and videos, but above all, through meetings in schools and universities to describe the United States’ disinformation campaigns against Cuba and other countries.
Regarding the shipment of this container, Papacci noted that this initiative of solidarity and collaboration is “a new expression of denunciation of the genocidal US blockade, which stifles the Cuban people.”
