Russia develops “SERP” system for protection against drones

Moscow, Jun 17 (Prensa Latina) Sergei Chemezov, General Director of Rostec State Corporation, announced on Tuesday the development and implementation of the new "SERP-VS13D" electronic warfare system.

Chemezov said the system is capable of effectively detecting and neutralizing previously invulnerable attack unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and drones, controlled within an extended frequency range.

He noted that Russia had a new system, the new “SERP-VS13D” electronic warfare complex, which has already been deployed at several defense enterprises, including ammunition plants, and has demonstrated high efficiency in protecting against drone attacks.

He also reported that the number of missiles for the Pantsir-SMD-E anti-aircraft system has quadrupled. According to Chemezov, the new modification of the system now features mini-missiles, which increased the ammunition load from 12 to 48 missiles.

The Rostec director stated that the increased ammunition significantly increases the system’s effectiveness in repelling massive attacks by UAVs. According to him, the military forces positively assess this system’s modification.
