Before the Supreme Electoral Tribunal (TSE) and international observers, both parties signed the declaration of the Meeting for Democracy-Second Round of the 2025 General Elections, held in the city of Santa Cruz.
Present at this forum were the Libre coalition, Jorge Tuto Quiroga-Juan Pablo Velasco, and PDC presidential candidate Rodrigo Paz, as Edmand Lara was unable to attend the meeting because he was in La Paz, unable to secure a ticket after attending the soccer match between the Bolivian and Brazilian national teams the night before.
According to the statement, read by the TSE member Tahuichi Tahuichi Quispe, the parties pledged not to engage in disinformation and dirty war, and to prioritize the dissemination of proposals.
For its part, the TSE reaffirmed its commitment to provide the vote count records to the delegates of each party, as was the case in the first round on August 17, in a further demonstration of transparency in the electoral process.
To ensure this, the Intercultural Service for Democratic Strengthening (Sifde) “will carry out timely monitoring actions” in accordance with the Propaganda and Electoral Campaign Regulations for the 2025 second-round general elections, which include sanctions for non-compliance.
Along with these actions, political actors, social organizations, and citizens were urged to respect the political right of all Bolivians to campaign anywhere in the country, in an environment of tranquility and political pluralism, and the voting results.
