In statements to Il Mattino newspaper, the Italian foreign minister noted that “the efforts and results achieved so far should be encouraged.”
To that end, he said, Rome is consolidating its presence with troops and diplomatic personnel at the Civil-Military Coordination Center (MCCC), established in October 2025 as part of the peace agreement, which aims to coordinate stabilization and humanitarian aid efforts in the Gaza Strip following the war.
The new Italian mission, which will travel to that region as of November 4, “will be there to hold further meetings and prepare for the reconstruction conference in Cairo in mid-November, from which Italy is the coordinating committee with Egypt,” Tajani noted.
These efforts will continue those initiated in October by a technical team from Italy, headed by Italian Special Envoy for Gaza, Bruno Archi, who visited Ramallah and Jerusalem on October 20-22, according to a statement from the Foreign Ministry.
