After two years of negotiations, the agreement seeks to establish a formal trade cycle in sectors of common interest, aligned with the sovereign policy of diversifying trading partners.
The signing will take place between the foreign trade ministers of the two nations, in the presence of the presidents of the UAE, Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and the DRC, Felix Tshisekedi, who arrived in the Arab country on Sunday.
This partnership model is expected to be beneficial for both parties, the Congolese Presidency stated on its X profile.
Several aspects of bilateral cooperation were discussed in November 2025, during the visit to Kinshasa by UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Shakhboot Nahyan Al Nahyan, and the delegations from both countries agreed to deepen existing ties.
Both sides deemed it pertinent to organize a UAE-DRC forum so that the African nation promotes several projects requiring funding, and they also discussed the ratification of an air services agreement.
