Quito, Feb. 4 (Prensa Latina) Cuba does not pose a threat to the United States, and the existing conflict between the two countries stems from a dispute over the sovereignty and dignity of the Cuban people, stated the island's ambassador to Ecuador, Basilio Gutierrez. Addressing an online conference organized by the Ecuadorian Coordinating Committee for Friendship and Solidarity with Cuba, the diplomat exoressed that Washington's policy of harassment toward Havana is not recent, but rather dates back to 19th-century U.S. attempts to control or annex the country.
