The meeting of the delegation, headed by the association’s vice president, Yuan Mindao, concludes the trip of the Sino representatives who are interested in highlighting the excellent ties between the two nations, the BNC stated in a press release.
During the meeting, the Chinese representative reaffirmed his country’s support amidst the aggression Cuba faces from the United States.
The exchange also served to explore new avenues of collaboration with the National Ballet of Cuba.
During the visit to the headquarters, the delegation witnessed a rehearsal of the second act of Giselle, which the company is preparing for its upcoming season, with performances on February 21, 22, 27, 28, and March 1, at the National Theater of Cuba.
During the exchange, Valdes explained the signifance of Giselle, one of the great classics of dance, in the company’s repertoire, along with Swan Lake, a work they toured last year in cities across China.
Mindao, for his part, inquired about the dynamics of the company’s work, the ties between the National Ballet of Cuba and the National Ballet of China, and expressed his gratitude for the opportunity for cultural exchange between the two countries.
“I am pleased that you are considering broader cooperation with local governments in China, and we hope that more Chinese audiences will be able to enjoy more performances by the National Ballet of Cuba,” the official noted.
